Case Study: Optimizing Production Tubing

At Lightning Production Services (LPS), we understand the challenges faced by artificial lift engineers and operations managers in optimizing production in deviated wellbores. Traditional full-length Thermoplastic Liners (TPL) can be costly and less effective. Our innovative Hi-Rise System™ provides a targeted, cost-efficient solution.

The Challenge:

Lining the entire length of production tubing with TPL protects against corrosion and wear but often leads to unnecessary expenses, especially in straight or less-deviated sections.

The Solution:

The Hi-Rise System™ offers a selective lining approach, focusing on the deviated sections of the tubing where wear and operational challenges are most prominent. This method maintains optimal internal diameter (ID) for improved flow rates and allows for the use of larger pumps. Key innovations include:

  • Selective Lining in Deviated Sections: Enhances flow management and reduces material costs.
  • Slim Hole Couplings: Allows for the running of larger ID Tubing, which enhances the clearance allowing for larger pumps, rods, etc.
  • Coiled Rod Considerations: Combines coiled rod with liners in deviated sections for a more adaptable and cost-effective solution.

Benefits:

The Hi-Rise System™ offers a selective lining approach, focusing on the deviated sections of the tubing where wear and operational challenges are most prominent. This method maintains optimal internal diameter (ID) for improved flow rates and allows for the use of larger pumps. Key innovations include:

  • Economic Efficiency: Reduces overall material and installation costs.
  • Operational Performance: Maintains uniform ID, improving pump efficiency and flow rates.
  • Durability and Maintenance: Decreases wear on production tubing, leading to lower maintenance costs and longer intervals between overhauls.
