LPS is Now Stocking it's Flagship Thermoplastic Tubing Liner, LightningFlo™ LF115B, Williston, ND

Lightning Production Services is now stocking it's flagship thermoplastic tubing liner, LightningFlo™ LF115B, in Williston, ND. It is ready to serve operators across the Bakken with a cost-effective solution to protect against rod wear and corrosion in deviated wellbores.

LightningFlo™ lined tubing was installed in thirteen deviated wells experiencing a high failure rate. Their performance was monitored for two years post-installation.

Well conditions/failure rates prior to installation:

  • Average pump depth: 11,500 ft
  • Average failure rate: 1.96
  • Severe deviations led to frequent tubing leaks
  • Rod wear enhanced by corrosion

The graph below compares the failure rates these wells experienced before and after installing LightningFlo™ lined tubing. Installing lined tubing caused the tubing failure rate to dramatically decrease by over 90%, and reductions were seen in both the rod and pump failure rates.

Round vs. Semi-Elliptical Continuous Rod

Based on the above results, the operator implemented a field-wide lined tubing plan, installing LightningFlo™ lined tubing in all wells with two or more failures in the previous 12 months and producing less than 250 bfpd.
